Over the past thirteen years, we have been on a journey together. We have sipped wines, enjoyed sweets and savories, danced, supported our community, won many awards, and, most importantly, made connections. Hopefully, we have provided you a highlight and a break from the busyness of your lives. Many of you lovingly refer to Cellardoor as your happy place. For us, it has been our honor to host you, do our best to beat your expectations, and spoil you. Thank you for your friendship and support. It all has mattered so much.
Time to look forward. We plan to open our Lincolnville location Friday, June 5th. Honestly, there has been a lot of anxious soul-searching over the past few weeks as we work towards next Friday. So many what-ifs, guidelines to consider. What makes sense for our team and you, our guests. Out of the quagmire, “hospitality” and “choice” emerged with clarity.
Hospitality is about open-heartedness, welcoming. I, Cellardoor, can and will welcome you hospitably, even if it is from behind a mask and with an experience that is different. We are motivated by knowing that many need a highlight. Ourselves included. – “Choice,” we all have choices, options. If you choose to visit us this season, you will be trying a new approach with us.
We will offer reservations for guests at our dining tables or outside spaces to enjoy preset tastings (clever Carissa figured that one out), glasses or bottles of wine, and snacks. We believe this can be a lovely experience while our tasting bars stay idle. Further, the expanse of our vineyard welcomes you also.
If you choose to visit, we will tutor you on how it all works (details here). Our barn will follow retail guidelines; our farmhouse and porches will follow restaurant guidelines.
