Buoy White, our Chenin Blanc and Semillon blend wins Best of Class at the 2023 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. The San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition is the largest competition of North American wines in the world, drawing 5500 entries from throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

For each San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, longtime wine writer Mike Dunne tastes and jots notes on best-of-class wines. For the competition in 2024, Mike first tasted all 172 best-of-class wines and then trimmed this wide field to the 70 wines that went into the concluding sweepstakes round, plus a few others that he found to represent exceptional character, quality, value, back stories, and trends within the wine scene, especially the rise in grape varieties and wine styles beyond California.
We’re honored to be featured among these Best of Class winners. Here’s what Mike Dunne has to say about Buoy White:

‘The Buoy’ is the perfect proprietary name for this imaginative blend of Chenin Blanc and Semillon. Like a buoy, the wine is bright, bobbing and helpful, especially if it is put on the table to accompany a pasta, from a reserved primavera to a sassy puttanesca.”

2021 Buoy White is available in our Tasting Rooms and Online.
