WINEMAKER NOTES: The 2019 growing season in California was cooler than typical, resulting in grapeswith lower sugar, deep color, and intense flavor. As luck would have it, we were given a last-minute opportunity to work with 3 tons of Teroldego grapes from just north of Lodi, CA. It was our first time working with this variety and a wonderful experience – inky dark with big fruit and hearty tannins. To this, we added a generous portion of our soft, lush Sagemoor Vineyard Syrah. Given Teroldego’s naturally high tannin content, we aged the blend in neutral oak barrels to allow the fruit to take center stage.

REVIEWS:
Floral and slightly earthy, with tangy red fruit on the nose. The wine is full-bodied and very slightly drying on the palate with ripe tannins, brisk acidity, and a long, red fruit finish with just a touch of earthiness.”– Forbes The World’s Top Red Wines at the 2022 San Francisco International Wine Competition
Inky dark with a bourbon thing going on, big fruit on the palate, mostly plum and blackberry, with a full mouthfeel and some crunchy structure.”– Jeffrey Kralik
