WINEMAKER NOTES:The 2016 vintage began remarkably hot in the spring but cooled off by summer. This extended hang time allowed for both gradual and even ripening – perfect weather for developing ripe
flavors at moderate sugars. Our Tempranillo is a very small, limited-production wine that was crafted carefully to respect the interesting, unique flavors this varietal has to offer.

REVIEWS:
It’s rather amazing that a Northeast vintner can so skillfully craft two barrels of this big Spanish red and offer it at such a low price, but we have quickly come to expect the unexpected from storied mutual fund manager Bettina Doulton’s Cellardoor Winery. Whiffs of blackberry, cured meat and leather trickle into a platform of cherries and blackberries. There’s balance all the way, capped by food-friendly boysenberry acidity.
