Sur la Riviere
Our Rhone-inspired blend of Grenache and Syrah is vibrant and supple.
YEAR: 2018
BLEND: 70% Grenache, 21% Syrah, 9% Mourvedre
SOURCE:
Grenache – Six Prong Vineyard, Horse Heaven Hills AVA, Washington
Syrah – Airfield Estates, Yakima Valley AVA, Washington
Mourvedre – Six Prong Vineyard, Yakima Valley AVA, Washington
ABV: 14.9%
WINEMAKER NOTES: 2018 was a perfect growing season in eastern Washington – heat early in the summer with a cool fall and no rain. These ideal conditions resulted in grapes with high sugar, balanced acid, and amazing color. Inspired by the legendary wines of the Rhone Valley, this traditional GSM (Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre) blend is a perfect union of these beautiful varieties. This wine is an ode to the Rhone and a tribute to Maine folklore and the old river shanty “Youpe, Youpe, Sur la Riviere!” sung by loggers from Quebec who traveled through Maine via raft or canoe.
